The style, dubbed ‘East Coast bones and desert soul,’ is gaining attention for its timeless appeal and versatility, offering a fresh approach to regional interior design.
The Arizona residence, designed by Studio McGee, combines classic East Coast influences—such as tailored upholstery, vintage decor, and heirloom-inspired details—with warm desert tones, natural textures, and indoor-outdoor living features. The home’s centerpiece is a 13-foot furniture-inspired island and warm oak cabinetry, which contribute to its character and timelessness.
This aesthetic emphasizes layering contrasting elements, including woven textures, earthy greens, vintage ceramics, and aged woods. Shea McGee describes the style as less about following specific trends and more about creating a layered, lived-in feel that balances polished details with relaxed comfort.
Recreating this look does not require a custom home; brands like McGee & Co., Magnolia, Serena & Lily, Lulu and Georgia, and Target’s Threshold line offer pieces that embody this timeless-meets-relaxed mood.
